Position summary

The Center for Faith Engagement, CFE, in coordination with the Andrews Athletics Department is looking for a qualified student worker to assist in planning and leading faith-based programming for the AU Cardinals Athletic teams. As part of a leading faith-based program, the candidate will also engage in a ministry of presence at key moments for AU Cardinal student athletes. The successful candidate will work with all levels of staff within both CFE and AU Athletics. 

The candidate should be prepared to work 6-8 hours a week.

Duties and responsibilities

• 
  Execute Campus faith-culture projects in support of wider campus culture initiatives 
  


• 
  Identify and engage student athletes, including team captains, individuals with a desire and ability to lead spiritual initiatives within AU Cardinal teams. 
  


• 
  Lead out in small group programming for team captains 
  


• 
  Plan and lead occasional, large format programming, such as, Athletic vespers, for all members of the AU Cardinal Athletic department
  


• 
  Assist in Center for Faith Engagement initiatives in a mutually supportive manner (events include Week of Prayer, Fellowships, Engage Summits, and others as needed)
  


• 
  Plan, Coordinate, and Co-lead semesterly community service engagements with campus and local partners.

Qualifications

• 
  Candidates hold at least Sophomore class standing with one year of in-residence education on campus OR demonstrated understanding of Andrews’ Student-Athlete life (Preferred) 
  


• 
  Demonstrated evidence of prior experience engagement within athletics, faith-programming, and leadership development in a variety of settings 
  


• 
  Demonstrated understanding of presence-based ministry in multi-cultural, interfaith settings 
  


• 
  Demonstrated interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence 
  


•  Must be a student in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 2.5


• NOTE: This individual must be available Aug. 11 - 15, 2025 for the required CFE Student Chaplain Retreat
