Maritime Kids STEM Summer Camp

Community Announcements | Posted on June 30, 2017

This summer, the Michigan Maritime Museum will be offering our STEM focused summer camp for kids grades 3-5. The STEM curriculum focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, and of course, fun!

The day camp, held on the Michigan Maritime Museum campus in South Haven, will feature a maritime themed program through engaging STEM activities and lessons. The camp includes activities aboard tall ship Friends Good Will, interactive activities, and a cruise on the late 19th century replica river launch Lindy Lou. “It’s a wonderful experience for students in the summer to add a little education to their vacation,” says Ashley Deming, Director of Education and Administration. “Students get the chance to become fully immersed in maritime history with this fun hands-on camp here at the Museum. From activities about commercial fishing to actually getting out on the water, they won’t want to miss it!” Dates for the camp are July 17-21, 2017. The camp runs from 9:30 am-12:00 pm each day. Cost for the camp is $250 per student for the week and includes all activities, snack, a camp t-shirt and a boat ride. There are only 12 spots available, so sign up today! Deadline for registration is July 1st.  To register or for more information, visit www.michiganmaritimemuseum.org/education/ or call Ashley Deming at 269-637-8078 ext. 3.
