He will use Luke 4:18&ndash;19 as a jumping-off point for his talk. Nixon serves as director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging for South Bend area&rsquo;s Beacon Health System. He earned his law degree from the University of Illinois-Chicago Law School in 2013 and a bachelor&rsquo;s degree in political science from Andrews University in 2009. He served as Andrews University&rsquo;s vice president for University Culture &amp; Inclusion for six years before transitioning to Beacon Health. Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with his daughter, Noa, who is in fourth grade. Last year, Emily was able to complete Disney's Dopey challenge, a total of 48 miles, in competative time. She applied to run on the fundraising team and was accepted this fall. The money donated to this race will help to fund equipment and events in the Children's hospital that will improve their quality of life and experience in long-term medical treatments.
