At this special time, we would like to express our gratitude&nbsp;for veterans' service to our country. We invite you to join us as we honor our students at Andrews University who are veterans. We will be honored to have a colorguard on our campus from the American Legion Buchanan Post 51.</p> <p> We invite the veterans to pick up a gift after the service in the Pioneer Memorial Commons area.</p> Mon, 07 Nov 2016 09:21:57 +0000 Veterans Day Event to Honor Local Veterans http://www.andrews.edu/agenda/39448 <p> On Tuesday, November 10, 2015, Andrews University will be hosting a Veteran&rsquo;s Day Tribute, held at 11:30 a.m. in Newbold Auditorium in Buller Hall. The event will feature stories shared by student veterans accompanied by a slideshow of pictures of the veterans while they were in service.</p> <p> &ldquo;Fall is a time for reflection and giving thanks,&rdquo; says Keith Mattingly, dean of the College of Arts &amp; Sciences. &ldquo;At this special time, we would like to express our gratitude for veterans&rsquo; service to our country.&rdquo;</p> <p> Special guests from the Veterans of Foreign Wars will be in attendance as well as the color guard from The American Legion in Buchanan, Michigan.</p> <p> The University invites all students, student veterans, veteran dependents, community members and families to share in this expression of gratitude for those who have served our country.</p> <p> To the student veterans, James North Jr., professor emeritus of pastoral care and chaplaincy, says, &ldquo;We are proud that you have chosen Andrews University to reach your educational goals.
