Welcome Pathfinders!

We are so excited you have chosen to add a stop at Andrews University to your trip to the 2009 Courage to Stand Camporee!

Camping on the Andrews Campus

Pathfinders are welcome to reserve a camping spot on campus by contacting Convention Services at 269-471-3360/3674 or e-mail your inquiries to visitors@andrews.edu. Running water and access to shower facilities will be available

We hope that your learning and fun and love for God, focused from the Camporee, will continue on our campus. There are many fun activities planned with you in mind— check out the FLIGHT SIMULATORS at our airpark, make a PHOTOGRAM with our photography teachers, add trees to your list for your TREE HONOR, venture out to one of the fabulous SAND DUNES AND BEACHES in our "backyard" and stop for some FRESH-PICKED PEACHES on the way. Those are just a few of the options you'll find in the Andrews community. Our faculty, staff and students are some of the friendliest you'll find anywhere. We hope you feel at home here and make lots of memories to share with your friends and family. Consult the campus map for locations.

Geocaching
Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. Andrews is proud to have a six-stage multi-cache tour of the monuments on campus, which reveals some of our rich history. For more information, go to www.geocaching.com and enter “Berrien Springs 49104” in the search box. Then click on the John Nevins Andrews Cache to get the coordinates for your adventure.

Got Milk? Andrews Does
Stop by the Andrews Farm and Dairy which has over 1,400 cows. AU’s cows have been recognized throughout the County, and were awarded “High Herd in Milk” due to the 28,450 pounds of milk on average that each cow gave, along with “High Herd in Butterfat” and “High Herd Increase in Milk” in 2005. Take a tour of the brand new milking parlor and visit the calf barn (yes... it will be “fragrant.”)

Horn Archaeological Museum
The Horn Museum will be of special interest to Camporee participants who learned about Queen Esther! It houses more than 8,500 ancient Near-Eastern artifacts, including coins, pottery, sculptures, tools, weapons, figurines, jewelry, seals and glass vessels. The Horn Museum can be open by appointment Monday–Thursday from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m.–noon. Discovery guides will be provided. During your visit to the museum, you can also check out the museum store where you'll find many unique items recently brought back from the Holy Land. Call 471-3273 or hornmuseum@andrews.edu

Natural History Museum
The Natural History Museum, located in the Science Complex at Andrews University, includes collections of over 30,000 marine shells, 1,600 birds, 1,400 mammals, and 5,000 botanical specimens. At the center of the museum is the Prillwitz Mammoth, the most complete wooly mammoth skeleton unearthed in Michigan. The museum will be open Monday–Thursday from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m.– noon. Discovery guides will be provided.

Pipes and Power
Enjoy a demonstration/tour of the Pioneer Memorial Church organ. Experience up close, as never before, the vibration of the powerful music that raises our hearts in worship each Sabbath. Learn about the fascinating inside workings controlling thousands of pipes. See schedule for organ demonstration times.
