Math Assistants

Lisa Parry Ward

lisaward@cheerful.com Lisa was the math assistant for the first two years (1991--1993) of the program. That first year she also assisted for computers. Lisa taught at Andrews Academy 1995-97. She assisted in ISD physics and some in ISD math in 1997-98. Her child was born Nov. 1997.

Gwen Gessel

LivGes@aol.com Gwen was a math assistant for part of the 1992-93 school-year, all of the 1993-94 school-year, and most of the 1994-95 school-year (missing the University's fall quarter). She also assisted with 1994 summer algebra.

Lorie Meola Kosenski

meola@andrews.edu Lorie was a math assistant for the 1993-94 school-year. Since her student teaching at Coloma the next year, she has been teaching high school math near Ann Arbor.

Marvin Puymon

mpuymon@indiana.edu Marvin was a math assistant for the 1994-95 school-year, primarily assisting juniors and seniors. After three years and a M.S. toward a Ph.D., he is taking the 1997-98 school-year off to do some actuarial statistics.

Helen Macey

macey@andrews.edu Helen was a math assistant for the 1994-95 school-year, summer of 1995, summer algebra 1995 and 1996; fall and spring quarters of the 1995-96 school-year; and first few weeks of the 1996-97 school-year. In 1997-98 she taught math in some academy in central CA and rumor is for 1998-99 will be teaching near Loma Linda.

Barbara Rowland

browland@andrews.edu (replace with LaSierra address) Barbara was a math assistant for the 1995-96 school-year as well as the first three weeks and spring break of 1997-98.

Rachel Roberts Wile

Rachel was a math assistant for both the 1995-96 and 1996-97 school-years. In addition to test, contest, and extra credit grading, she did help sessions (TW 7-9pm) and worked Friday afternoons. She also worked full-time at the campus radio station WAUS 90.7 FM. She married on August 24, 1997 and her mother died on September 4, 1997. She moved out west and is working in a museum.

Richard Hoffer

rickh@andrews.edu Rick was a math assistant for winter and spring quarters 1995-96 school-year and again for the 1996-97 school-year and the first two months of the 1997-98 school-years. That is when we got a job at Battle Creek Academy teaching math.

Dayi Qiao

qiao@andrews.edu Pete was a math assistant for spring quarter 1995-96 school-year. He was then a computer assistant for the sophomores 1996-97 school-year.

John Crounse

crounjd@andrews.edu John was a math assistant for the 1996-97 school-year and again a little bit for the 1997-98 school-year.

James Nelson

nelsonja@andrews.edu James started as a math assistant Jan. '97 and is worked a little bit the 1997-98 school-year.

Wayne Buckhanan

buck@andrews.edu Wayne attended the Math & Science Center as part of the Charter class (attending the LMC site his freshman year). His senior year instead of taking Center classes he took college classes. He started as an assistant August 1997; will likely graduate in August 1997 with a Computer Science major; and has a full-time job on campus in Information Technology Services starting July 1, 1998.

Rita Sircar

rsircar@andrews.edu Rita started in Nov. 1997 as a college freshman. She is a pre-PT major and helped primarily in the morning or with help sessions.

Barbara Moore

bmoore@andrews.edu Barbara started in Dec. 1997 and is an upperclass math major.

Jon Oxley

oxley@andrews.edu Jon started in Jan. 1998 and worked until March 1998, primarily as study hall monitor. He was a computer science major and will intern summer 1998 at Amoco.

Jenny (Meijuan) Tang

meijuan@andrews.edu Jenny is a graduate student in Software Engineering. She came to the University in Jan. 1998 and started working here yet that month.

Shirleen Luttrell

shirleen@andrews.edu Shirleen graduated from AUC in 1994; worked two years in an English language school in Russia; worked the 1997-98 school-year as assistant dean and math teacher at Broadview; and started here in ISD math in June 1998. She plans to finish her pre-med requirements.
