Worship & Music Leadership Certificate

(Andrews University Students Edition) 

In order to complete the Certificate you must complete this requirements in 4 different Sessions (3 for Music Students) 

Classes Required (as CEUs):

 Music Student Track

• Composition, Arrangement, and Improvisation (3 hours total)
• Worship & Music Leadership (8 hours total)
• Music Theory and Analysis (Requirement validated with Music Theory and Composition MUCT 141 - 241)
• Vocal Technique/Songwriting (2 hours. Vocal majors requirement validated with MUPF 164, 165 – 264,265. The rest of music students, 3 hours)
• Biblical Foundation for Christian Worship (Requirement validated with MURE 428/528 Church Music & Hymnology or MURE 423/523 Christian Worship & Music. 8 hours total
• Practicum (This requirement is fulfilled by leading at least one worship set on campus or in any church. Please provide a recorded video of the event)
• Songwriting and arranging for Congregational Worship (3 hours)
• Changes in Music and Worship Through History (“In Tune with God” by Lilianne Doukhan, p. 145-206. The requirement is fulfilled by submitting a reading report)
• Worship, Technology, and Social Media (3 hours)
• Introduction to Sound and Music Management (3 hours)
• Worship & Music Sessions (8 hours)
• Questions & Answers Panel (8 hours)

AU Student Track:

• Composition, Arrangement, and Improvisation (3 hours total)
• Worship & Music Leadership (8 hours total)
