Tornado Alert and Shelter Drill

A campus-wide drill

On Wednesday, July 16 around 3 pm, there will be a Tornado Alert and Shelter Drill as part of the developing of the university Emergency Operations Plan for Tornadoes. The drill will begin with the Public Safety siren sounding. Please cooperate with your building manager who can direct you to the most secure shelter area for your building. These areas are shown on building wall maps as a yellow-colored area. Remain there until the "all clear" notification is made. There will be individuals with Observer badges who are watching our drill to evaluate how to best improve our Tornado Plan. In the event your shelter has not received the “All Clear" within 30 minutes after the siren has stopped sounding, please consider the drill over. We would also request that if your shelter is not notified, please call Public Safety at 471-3321 to report it. This is planned to be a learning experience for everyone and your feedback is appreciated.
