Seminar on Autism By Lakeland

A free seminar on autism spectrum disorder will take place on Tuesday, November 17, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at First Congregational Church of St. Joseph, located at 2001 Niles Avenue. The program is open to family members of those with autism, as well as anyone who works with children, including educators, daycare providers, clergy, medical professionals, and law enforcement and family court services officers.

               Presentations will discuss understanding autism in children, adolescents, and adults; identifying signs and symptoms; and connecting with resources for diagnosis and treatment. The keynote speaker will be Kristin Wier, MA, LLP, BCBA, Clinical Director of LOGAN Center’s Sonya Ansari Autism Learning Center, Southwest Michigan. Located within the First Congregational Church of St. Joseph, the Sonya Ansari Autism Center provides a comprehensive Applied Behavior Analysis program for children on the autism spectrum.
