Michiana Forum: Adventist Higher Education
Michiana Adventist Forum presents "Adventist Higher Education: The Way
Things Look Today," featuring Dr. Niels-Erik Andreasen, President of
Andrews University and Professor of Old Testament Studies at the
Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary. The program is Saturday
afternoon at 3:30 pm, April 16, 2016, in Chan Shun Hall on the campus of
Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI.
About the Speaker: Dr. Andreasen became the fifth president of Andrews
University in 1994 and is now the longest serving president in the
university’s history. Born in Denmark, he earned his bachelor’s degree
at Newbold College in England before emigrating to the United States. He
holds two degrees from Andrews as well as a doctorate in religious
studies from Vanderbilt University. Since 1970 he has held teaching and
leadership posts in Adventist colleges and universities. Before
returning to Andrews University, he taught religion at Pacific Union
College, served as dean of the School of Religion at Loma Linda
University, and was president of Walla Walla College.
