George Krasl Memorial Concert

Community Announcements | Posted on June 2, 2016

The Krasl Art Center invites the community to the George Krasl Memorial Concert, Tuesday, June 7.

Grab a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy musical performances outside on the grounds of the Krasl Art Center.

The evening will begin with the world percussion sounds of John Owens, Director of Music at Lake Michigan College, followed by a solo performed by saxophonist Chris Keech.  Jazzmin II, a jazz quintet with Steve Reed at the helm, will headline with a program to include music from American Blue Note, a 1987 film scored by Larry Schanker.

A garden birthday party will ensue following the concert to honor the late George Krasl (1903-1976).  What better way to celebrate 35 years of the George Krasl Memorial Concert Series than to throw a lively party on the day George would have celebrated his 113th birthday?

The concert begins at 7PM and is free and open to the public.  Donations are gladly accepted.
