KRASL ART CENTER MEMBERS’ SHOW: THE YARD SHOW

September 23 – November 13, 2016

The Krasl Art Center celebrates its creative community in the annual members’ show. Every year, this exhibition attracts wonderful artworks by local and regional artists of all ages and skill sets, working in a variety of media and styles, who are also supporting members of the KAC. The show is accessible, fun and full of variety. It is a great source of community pride that truly showcases the immense cultural wealth of the area through individuals and their artistic pursuits.

Each members’ show, the Krasl Art Center puts forth a challenge to participating artists. Due to the high number of entries in years past, this year’s challenge is one of scale. All artists have been asked to submit 1 artwork, no larger than 1 yard x 1 yard x 1 yard (3’ x 3’ x 3’), hence the tagline The Yard Show. Artists of all ages are eligible to participate. They are asked to submit artworks created within 12 months of the show’s opening and never-before-shown pieces are highly encouraged.

NEW this year:

1.     People’s Choiceand Kid’s Choice Awards: guests of all ages have the opportunity to vote on their favorite artwork in the show. Award winning artists receive quirky prizes made just for them.

2.     Artwork by youth students, ages 17 and under, will be on view in the KAC’s artlab gallery. There will be a maker space within the artlab as well.
