W. Larry Richards Memorial Service
Life Stories
| Posted on March 30, 2017
We regret to announce that W. Larry Richards died on Sabbath, March 18, 2017. Larry was at home and surrounded by his family, accepting his passing just as he lived his 81 years—with infinite grace, dignity and tranquility.
Larry received his undergraduate degree from Pacific Union College, an MDiv from Andrews University and PhD from Northwestern University. He has been a church pastor, a professor in Pacific Union College’s Department of Theology, a seminary professor in the New Testament department at Andrews University and director of the Greek Manuscript Research Center at Andrews University.
He contributed to Adventist theological discussion through teaching and writing for decades. Most notable was his commentary on the books of First and Second Corinthians and his very popular Read Greek in 30 Days (or less).
With all of his notable achievements, Larry will be best remembered by his family as a loving and devoted father and grandfather. He will be missed dearly and remembered fondly.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, April 1, at 3 p.m. at the Elmshaven SDA Church in Deer Park (St. Helena), California. Any and all of his friends are invited to attend.
