The Andrews University Enactus team placed third in their league at the Enactus United States National Exposition Competition held May 22 in Kansas City, Missouri.

This event is the culmination of a series of regional competitions that lead up to the nationwide competition between regional finalists. The Andrews University Enactus team placed in the top 10 percent in the U.S. for 2017.

“Enactus is committed to providing students with the opportunity for personal and professional development,” says Stephen Robertson, director of programs for Enactus United States. “It’s great to see institutions such as Andrews University committed to providing support to students as well as their community through Enactus. I congratulate them on this year’s competition success and know next year’s projects will be even more impactful.”

During this academic year, the Andrews University Enactus team organized four projects in the Berrien Springs community and one new international project: Operation Regenesis, a cancer awareness and education prevention program in Nicaragua. Andrews students travelled to Nicaragua earlier in May to help establish an organic model garden, hold a free clinic and educate women about cervical cancer. The team raised over $17,000 for this project and overall, 30 students volunteered over 2,800 hours in their local community.

Andrews University Enactus is one of 457 teams in the United States. The culmination of the Enactus program is an annual series of competitions that provide a showcase for teams to present the results of their projects and be evaluated by business leaders serving as judges. Teams compete first at the regional and national levels, then at the international level when the national champion teams from each country meet at the Enactus World Cup.

Enactus is a community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better, more sustainable world. They establish student programs on college campuses across the nation and encourage
students to apply business concepts to develop community outreach projects, transform lives and shape a better, more sustainable world.
