Kathleen Ekkens Passes Away

Kathleen Ekkens, 77, of Berrien Springs, Michigan, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at her home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 27, at Pioneer Memorial Church on the campus of Andrews University, Berrien Springs. Kathy was born December 18, 1939, in Battle Creek, Michigan, the daughter of Carolyn (Everest) and Donald Moon. She lived in Berrien Springs for the last 25 years and was a member of Pioneer Memorial Church. She retired in 2009 from the Seminary at Andrews University, where she had been a secretary.

Survivors include her three daughters, Laura Keller, Julie Verhelle and Karen Case; her son, John Holland; 10 grandchildren; and her sister, Eileen Horne.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Moon and Carolyn Lawson, and her brother, Donald “Bud” Moon.
