The sacrificial death of Jesus simultaneously accomplished several things that are crucial for our salvation. Different kinds of animal sacrifices at the Israelite sanctuary foreshadowed multiple aspects of His once-for-all sacrifice, the significance of which could not be represented by any one kind of ritual. Understanding the sacrifices at the sanctuary provides greatly enhanced appreciation for what Christ has done as God's gift of love to our broken world.
