Day of Prayer: "Against the Strongholds"
Fri, April 6, 2018 @ 07:00 pm - 11:59 pm
Sat, April 7, 2018 @ 12:00 am - 07:00 pm
The Andrews school year began with a collective focus on “Total Engagement: Living the Andrews Story.” The reality is, though, that the Andrews Story is not only about this campus—it is very much connected with the world. The headlines "out there" touch lives "in here."
From the headlines "out there" it is more than clear the world urgently needs the light of Christ to penetrate its darkness. For that reason the Andrews campus is called to a Day of Prayer. The prayer focus, “Against the Strongholds,” is keyed to God’s promise: “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world—on the contrary, they have power to demolish strongholds” (2 Corinthians 10:4). It is time to come against the strongholds of racism, atheism, injustice and spiritual darkness. Only the healing light of Christ can penetrate these strongholds and bring healing.
You are invited to set aside the hours from Friday, April 6, at 7 p.m., to Sabbath, April 7, at 7 p.m. For details and to connect with the prayer sign-up page, please visit pmchurch.org/dayofprayer. The PMC Youth Chapel will be open for these 24 hours for facilitated group prayer. (Residence hall students, please coordinate with your deans for after-curfew prayer times.)
Prayer posts have been placed all across campus identifying every region around the world. As we come across them, let’s pause to pray for God’s grace and light to shine in every corner of the world.
God has promised, “Call upon Me in the day of trouble and I will deliver you; and you will glorify Me” (Psalm 50:15).
