Krasl Art Center Seeks Volunteer Docents

Community Announcements | Posted on July 26, 2018

The Krasl Art Center seeks outgoing and art loving Volunteer Docents to add to its robust and growing Volunteer Docent program, established in 2014.

A docent is a trained museum guide who leads tours comprised of both children and adults. KAC seeks tour guides who are comfortable speaking in front of groups, interested in working with youth, and willing to dedicate time for tours, research, and training.

Recent grad of the 2018 Volunteer Docent Class Karen Walker shares her thoughts on the KAC's docent program saying, "It's been a wonderful experience to share learning and camaraderie with staff and docents. I love the "aha" moments when I say "I didn't know that" or "great idea!"

The KAC has a variety of tours that require docents, including gallery tours, outdoor sculpture walking tours, and special event tours. Share your love of art in this interesting and vital role becoming part of the KAC family.

If you are passionate about art, education, and the youth of your community, this might be the program for you! Join us for an informational Docent Day on Wednesday, August 8, 12 PM, to learn more about the program including information on the weekly training program, gallery tours, summer walking tours
and more!

Please email education@krasl.org to RSVP or to learn more about the docent program.
