"Face the Music: An Opera Gala"
A delightful program of arias and ensembles from a wide range of operas
“Face the Music: An Opera Gala” will be presented on Saturday, March 30, 8:30 p.m., at the Howard Performing Arts Center on the campus of Andrews University. The event’s title, “Face the Music (Conquer the Fear),” is true for both performer and audience member. It takes great courage to create many of these demanding arias as well as truly appreciate them.
Voice students of the Andrews University Department of Music will perform a delightful program of arias and ensembles from a wide range of operas. Be wowed as the students meet the demands of this challenging singing. You will be treated to beautiful music by Mozart, Verdi, Rossini, Menotti, Ward, Gershwin, Charpentier, Bizet, Gounod, Offenbach, Massenet and more! In addition, the University Singers will make guest appearances.
Proceeds from this concert will help to offset the cost of future Andrews University Singer Actor Studio productions. Tickets are $4 for students and seniors and $6 for general admission. Admission is free for children 10 and under. Tickets may be purchased at the box office or at howard.andrews.edu. There is a limit of two student tickets per student ID. For additional information, contact the Howard Box Office at 269-471-3560. For a full season schedule of events at the Howard Performing Arts Center, visit howard.andrews.edu.
