Mallory McHenry in Concert at Andrews University
On Sunday, Feb. 9, at 4 p.m.
Mallory McHenry will perform on Sunday, Feb. 9, at 4 p.m. as part of the Sunday Music Series at the Howard Performing Arts Center on the campus of Andrews University.
The program consists of music by French composers Marcel Tournier, Camille Saint-Saëns and Gabriel Pierné and by American composer Vincent Persichetti. All the pieces to be performed were originally written for harp by the composers. Both solo works and duets will be performed as McHenry collaborates with Andrews University student musicians Danya Wilson, violin, and Betania Canas, flute.
An alum of Oakwood University, McHenry is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Texas in Austin where she also obtained her Master of Music with a concentration in harp performance. She is based in Texas where she works for the Austin District Music Teachers Association and runs the McHenry Suzuki Studio where she offers both harp and piano lessons to aspiring musicians.
