Virtual 5k

Global Celebration of Andrews Event

Join us for a free virtual 5k during the Global Celebration of Andrews weekend on Sept. 25–27.

How will this work? It’s simple. Run or walk 5k (that’s 3.1 miles) anytime between Friday, Sept. 25, and 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27. Record your time and distance (this can be done through a GPS watch like Garmin, Polar or Fitbit or through a smartphone app like Strava, Nike, Runmeter, Runkeeper, MapMyRun, Couch to 5k or any other time/distance trackable app), then submit your results. It can be a photo of your watch or a screenshot from your phone—as long as it shows total time and distance that will be fine. You’ll be able to submit your results via the Virtual 5k Results form at alumni.andrews.edu/celebrateAU which will open on Friday, Sept. 25. Results must be submitted before the deadline of 5 p.m. EDT on Sunday, Sept. 27, to be included in the leaderboard results.

BONUS: Take a selfie of yourself before, during or after the run! If you post it on social media, tag it #andrewsalumni and #andrews5k and we’ll share the entries on our events page social media stream. Sunday evening, we’ll post the final leaderboard of results as well as a slideshow of the running participants from across the globe! Plus, our favorite photo will win a free Andrews T-shirt!
