Andrews University Wind Symphony Winter Concert

On Saturday, Feb. 20, at 8 p.m. the Andrews University Wind Symphony will perform its winter concert, this year themed “Stage & Screen.” Warm the winter chill by enjoying selections from your favorite Broadway musicals and Hollywood movies! This fun program presented by the Andrews University Wind Symphony under the direction of Byron Graves will feature music by John Williams, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Andrew Lloyd Webber, George Gershwin, Michael Giacchino and many others.
The evening will be filled with musical pieces such as “The Sound of Music” (Rodgers & Hammerstein/arr. Robert Bennett), “Over the Rainbow” from “The Wizard of Oz” (Arlen & Harburg/arr. Warren Barker) featuring Ed Tovar on alto saxophone, “Symphonic Suite” from “Pirates of the Caribbean” (Badelt/arr. John Wasson), selections from “Les Misérables” (Schönberg & Kretzmer/arr. Warren Barker), “Lincoln” from “Lincoln” (John Williams/arr. Jay Bocook) directed by Nehemias Calsin, graduate conductor, a selection from “Up” (Michael Giacchino/arr. Michael Brown), selections from “The Phantom of the Opera” (Webber/arr. Warren Barker), “Someone to Watch Over Me” (Gershwin/arr. Warren Barker) featuring Beta Siriwattanakamol as vocal soloist, “Symphonic Suite” from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” (Williams/arr. Jay Bocook), and “The Cowboys” from “The Cowboys” (John Williams/arr. James Curnow).
A limited quantity of free tickets is available for Andrews University music majors and minors, the Enjoyment of Music class, current Andrews University students and staff at the Howard Center office.
