Community Announcements | Posted on April 29, 2021

(WATERVLIET)—Appointments are available for community members to receive the COVID-19 Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on Wednesday, May 5, at Watervliet High School, located at 450 E. St. Joseph Street. Pfizer is the only vaccine product available for individuals age 16 and 17.

Anyone 16 years and older can reserve a vaccination appointment between noon and 7:40 p.m. by calling 269-927-5100 or self-scheduling online at spectrumhealthlakeland.org/vaccine. Walk-in appointments will also be accepted from noon to 3 p.m. while vaccine supply is available. Minors scheduling appointments will need a parent/guardian present at the clinic to provide consent before receiving the vaccination.

A second dose of the Pfizer vaccine is necessary to further boost the immune response and ensure long-term protection from COVID-19. Community members who receive their first dose at this week's clinic will be scheduled for a second dose on Wednesday, May 26.

The COVID-19 vaccine is available at no out-of-pocket cost. Insurance is not required to register for a vaccination appointment. If community members have insurance, they will be asked to provide this information when scheduling. For additional resources about the safety and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine, and how to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, visit spectrumhealthlakeland.org/covid19.
