WHAT: The second panel in this series “Hidden History: Understanding the Origins of Racial Inequity” will focus on Emancipation Proclamation through Post Reconstruction: 1863–1902. Panelists will discuss the consequences of Reconstruction and Jim Crow to Black southerners, laws and efforts to control freed slaves, and the Wilmington Insurrection.
