COVID 19: Steps to Keep Andrews Safe/Employees

Colleagues,

I know you've been following some of the news about the state of Michigan's (and MIOSHA's) approach as it makes changes to statewide COVID-19 protocols.

However, we are still short of achieving our 70 percent COVID-19 vaccination goal within our own campus community. As a result, the University continues to operate under our existing COVID-19 protocols, which include ongoing expectations of masking and physical distancing for those who are not yet fully vaccinated.

Thanks for your help in continuing to encourage your colleagues and students to receive a COVID-19 vaccination and to report those COVID-19 vaccinations online here (Andrews sign-in required). If someone hasn't been vaccinated but is planning to do so, they can find out about and schedule COVID-19 vaccinations locally here.

If you have the opportunity to be vaccinated but are choosing not to receive a vaccination, please take a moment to confirm your intentions with our Office of Human Resources (and ask your colleagues to do the same if they're not planning to be vaccinated).

This is simply a way to help us best assess our progress toward successfully reaching our Andrews University vaccination goals of 70 percent fully vaccinated in the coming weeks or months. There will be no individual implications beyond the importance of continued COVID-19 safety protocols for those who are not vaccinated.

Our current overall COVID-19 protocols will remain in place until after our summer graduation in early August, and we will announce any changes to our approach at that time as we prepare for our new school year. As has already been announced in connection with current CDC guidelines, those who are fully vaccinated are no longer expected to wear masks or physically distance themselves from others, regardless of whether they are inside or outside.
