Andrews University Pitch Competition

Campus-wide pitch competition. Open to all undergraduate and graduate students of Andrews University. Students can participate presenting their business (for-profit) or non-profit ideas. Cash and in-kind awards will be distributed among the finalists.

 

Competition Format

 

Application Process

  • Application form is available on our website.
  • You must include a pitch deck with details of your business idea with the application form. You must use the Template Pitch Deck provided.
  • Template pitch deck is available to download on our website.
  • Deadline to apply is March 18 at 7 p.m.

Judging Rounds

  • Round 1:
    • All applications will be reviewed and scored by judges.
    • Participants will receive notification of qualification to the next round by April 1.
  • Round 2:
    • Top 12 applications will compete in the final round.
    • Finalists will present in front of a live audience on April 8 at Newbold Auditorium.
    • Judges will select the top presentations.
    • Awards will be announced based on judges' scoring.

Awards

  • Both in-kind and cash awards will be given based on the scores by the judges during Round 2.
  • A total amount of about $30,000 of both in-kind and cash awards will be distributed.
  • Prior to the distribution of the award, the recipient(s) will be required to:
    • Meet with the Director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship to create a budget based on needs and growth plans.
    • Register a company in any U.S. state—the Office of Innovation & Entrepreneurship will help the recipient(s) complete the company registration, if necessary.
  • In-kind awards include any services by the Office of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, such as prototyping materials and equipment, consultants, personalized coaching, software licenses, puchase of needed equipment, grant writing assistance, patent application assistance, and rental space in the future innovation center.
