Project Architect job opening

Kil Architecture/Planning is seeking a Project Architect and Team Player who has 1-3 years’ experience as a Registered Architect. We are a general practice architecture & planning firm for a wide variety of project types including Commercial (office, municipal, park and recreation, healthcare, libraries, etc.), Mixed-use/Multi-family, Historic Rehabilitation, Preservation, Urban Design/Planning, and Custom Residential Design. Our firm focuses on new construction, renovations, and interior buildouts for a variety of projects. Our work is primarily in Indiana, Michigan, and Kentucky.

The successful candidate will have the ability to execute and lead all phases of design including assessment, programming, planning, feasibility, scope and concept development, detailed design, construction documentation, and construction administration. Furthermore, the successful candidate shall display a solid working knowledge of the International Building Codeand construction document preparation, coordination with engineering consultants, municipal officials, effective coordination, and communication with other team members. The candidate will have the ability to develop a project from conception through permits/bidding and construction completion.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
• 1 - 3+ years’ experience
• Registered Architect
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in use of Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit and familiarity with related tools and process
• Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
• Must have experience in preparation of architectural contract documents and specifications
• Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills
• An attitude and commitment to being an active team participant in our office

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelors or master’s degree in Architecture
• Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required
• Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and InDesign, desired but not required
• Local candidates preferred, but not required
