This weekend, April 8–11, Andrews University will host approximately 70 students and their families for the third in-person Preview of 2022. The schedule is packed with events, beginning with Infusion Vespers at Pioneer Memorial Church on Friday evening.

Other highlights include a cultural fashion show hosted by various student clubs on Saturday night and a scavenger hunt and student club food fair on Sunday.

On Monday, participating students and families will have the opportunity to visit classrooms across campus. They will also learn about paying for college, academic advising, housing, career services and other important topics.

Andrews University is excited to return to in-person Previews. In order to give students a deeper experience of campus life, this year the University expanded Previews to include Fridays and Saturdays. During the first Preview this spring, held March 11–14, 59 students and families visited campus. Friday evening vespers featured a message by Heather Thompson Day, associate professor in the Department of Visual Art, Communication & Design. On Sabbath afternoon, guests filled Easter baskets for Caretel Assisted Living patrons and on Saturday evening had the opportunity to either attend a concert or enjoy the Andreasen Center for Wellness. The prospective students had a meaningful time as they learned about what Andrews has to offer.

Then, in late March, Andrews hosted “Conociendo a Andrews,” a Preview for Spanish-speaking families. “For the very first time, all Preview programming was in Spanish both for parents and students who attended,” says Shelly Erhard, director of Student Visits. “Twelve families participated in the weekend’s activities. Our guests commented how much they appreciated having this event. This will be an event that we continue to offer for years to come!”

Each person on campus—students, faculty and staff—plays a part in making Previews a positive and memorable experience for visitors. “I’m thankful for everyone who helps these prospective students and their families feel at home at Andrews,” says Tony Yang, vice president for Strategy, Marketing & Enrollment/Chief Communication Officer. “And I thank all of the departments across campus who go above and beyond to welcome the students and prepare them for attending Andrews.”
