Death of Joshua A. Smalley
Joshua Adam Smalley passed away on March 16, 2022, unexpectedly at the age of 37. He was a theology student at Andrews University.
Josh was a lover of God and loved to talk about the Bible. He loved to tell other people about Jesus.
He loved animals, especially dogs. His dog, Juju, was his best friend. He was compassionate and helpful to anyone in need.
He loved the snow, music and working out. His favorite pastime was video games. He was looking forward to learning Hebrew and Greek so he could better understand the Bible in its original languages. His classmates loved and appreciated his insights in class and are starting a Worthy Student Fund in his name to honor him.
He had a unique brand of humor and would be laughing very hard about something without making a sound. He made others laugh as well. He was also deeply sensitive and emotional. For better or for worse, he felt things to his full capacity.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his parents: Mark and Mickey Smalley; a brother, Gabriel Smalley (Jenny Binstock); two sisters, Andrea Smalley (Kevin Wordelman) and Sarah Smalley (Aaron Skinner); and two nephews, Wally and Abel Smalley. He will be missed by his good friend, Andrew Tidwell; his girlfriend, Heather Wilson; and so many others.
The family is thankful for the multiple gestures of caring and compassion. Additional condolences or comments can be emailed to obits@starksfh.com.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Heritage Chapel in Berrien Springs.
