Death of Michael I. Marsh

Michael I. Marsh, “Mike,” was born Nov. 14, 1954, in Aledo, Illinois, to Irwin and Alta Mae Marsh. He graduated from Broadview Academy in 1973. Mike met his future wife, Debbie, at school, and they married in 1974. They then moved to Berrien Springs where Mike attended Andrews University for sign painting. He graduated in 1981 with a major in religion and minor in music.

Mike served Berrien Springs and the surrounding area as a locksmith for over 30 years. He dabbled in local politics for a short time and was engaged with many musical activities, including barbershop singing groups and playing in bands at Andrews University and at Niles and St. Joseph. He also organized and led the Suncoast Singers in Berrien Springs.

Mike was an avid collector of old tractors, namely the 2-cylinder variety like John Deere, Farmall and International. Mike also participated in parades and WWII reenactments with his restored WWII DUKW.

Mike passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at age 67.

Mike is survived by his wife, Debbie, and three sons: Michael II, William and Nicholas. He has three grandchildren: Caleb, MaKayla and Adelynn. He was a loving husband, supportive father and adoring grandfather.

Visitation will be 2–5 p.m. Sunday, July 10, at Allred Funeral Home in Berrien Springs, and also 10–11 a.m. Monday, July 11, at the Berrien Springs Village Seventh-day Adventist Church, where the funeral will be at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
