Guest Speaker Bio:
Debora Oliveira was born in Brazil in a city called João Pessoa, where she studied biotechnology. There, she fell in love with food biotechnology and decided to work with something innovative in this field. To accomplish that, she moved to Portugal to pursue her master’s degree in food science at the University of Minho (Braga, Portugal). The experience of living abroad deepened her knowledge in food science and allowed her to grow immensely as a professional and as a person. Currently she works as a scientist at Quest Meat (Birmingham, United Kingdom), and has developed edible biomaterials for the cultivated meat sector.
