Guest Speaker Bio:
Lanya Fanovich is a senior ecologist and outreach training expert at the Environmental Research Institute Charlotteville. She is based in Tobago since 2014, working closely with community members and implementing sustainability, community science-based conservation and monitoring projects. She is also the Reef Check National Coordinator for Trinidad and Tobago and was part of the technical writing team for the successful nomination and designation of the North East Tobago UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Reserve. Prior to joining ERIC, Lanya completed a BSc in zoology with a minor in marine ecology and an MSc in science and management of tropical biodiversity, both at The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine.

Co-host Bio:
Sean Nedd, PhD, is director for policy monitoring and evaluation in the Office of the Deputy Chief Secretary in the Tobago House of Assembly. He is the owner of THE STEM CENTER which is a consultancy business in Tobago focused on education, research and development in the STEM fields. He has a doctorate in physical chemistry from Iowa State University with a specialization in computational and theoretical chemistry. He is a code developer for several new theoretical methods in chemistry. Nedd is a top-level chess player registered with the World Chess Federation as an Instructor and an Arbiter that can host tournaments. He is also the chairman of the Progressive Democratic Patriots, a political party in Trinidad and Tobago.
