Excellence in Service: Kerry Ferris
International Education Manager
View the recorded presentation here.
Karen Ferris (known affectionately to all as Kerry) has a tremendous heart for international students. Before coming to Andrews University, she served in admissions at two other Adventist universities where she developed expertise in working with students from countries around the world. Kerry brought both her skills and her heart to Andrews University, establishing the International Education and Credentials office. Kerry created processes and systems from the ground up, allowing the institution to better serve our international students. There are many students who are at Andrews today because of her good work.
Kerry has also freely shared her expertise with her colleagues and has advocated for students. There are many students who would not be here without her advocacy and understanding of their situation.
Here are comments from some of her colleagues:
“Kerry is an industry leader.”
“Without her, many students would not have the opportunity to study in the U.S.”
“Kerry is very kind and thoughtful. She works over the weekend to ensure quality and assist other’s needs.”
“I have never met a more consummate professional who cares as much for students and Andrews University.”
As you begin your retirement, on behalf of everyone at Andrews University we thank you, Kerry, for your unwavering commitment and steadfast service. Andrews University is a better place because of you.
Congratulations on receiving this well-deserved award!
