Andrews University has been awarded Gold-Level Veteran-Friendly Status with the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA). The designation marks Andrews' continued excellence in serving military-connected students across the state of Michigan and at military installations nationally as well as active service members around the globe.

MVAA's Veteran-Friendly School Program recognizes academic institutions of higher learning committed to supporting the needs of student veterans and dependents. The program awards Gold-, Silver- or Bronze-Level status to institutions offering veteran-centric services and programs.

In correspondence notifying Gold-Level schools of their 2022–2023 recognition, Chris Taylor, education analyst with the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency, noted, “Your persistence and refusal to accept 'good enough' is what drives you forward—providing a shining example of what student services can be and should be for our military-connected students. As we continue to push forward and develop our own understanding of veteran services, our standards will likewise continue to evolve. I challenge you to strive to do more, to learn more and to be more for the population we have all committed to serving.”

Fares Magesa, Veteran Affairs Certifying Official in the Andrews University Office of Veteran Services, says, “It's an honor for Andrews to be recognized by the MVAA. I am thankful for the support of our University administration and the unique partnerships and collaborations across all of our departments in providing support and coordination for our veterans."
