Study: Berrien County Jail "Racial Disparity"

Black people are incarcerated in the Berrien County jail at triple their percentage in the county’s population, a study revealed during a Berrien County ALPACT meeting Tuesday.
However, the racial disparity doesn’t automatically mean there’s racial discrimination—which is the blatant unjust treatment of others based on their race—said Irina Gagiu, an Andrews University student who authored the study.
