International Conference of ISAA

The International Society for Academic Advancement (ISAA), founded last year by Sahmyook University in Seoul, Korea, is holding the very first International Conference of ISAA and Leaders Forum (ICISAA) from Aug. 8–10, 2023. The theme is "Sharing Academic Inspiration with the World."

Il Mok Kim, president of ISAA & Sahmyook University, notes, "This conference presents an excellent opportunity for professors, researchers and students from all corners of the world to convene, present their research findings, engage in discussions on topics of interest, and exchange ideas and information. Through this platform, we aspire to foster mutual friendships, promote international collaboration, and enhance our collective knowledge and understanding."

Plenary speakers include Lisa Beardsley-Hardy, director of the Education Department for the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, and Richard H. Hart, president of Loma Linda University. A detailed conference program is available here.

The ICISAA will be held both in person and virtually. Online participants can attend the conference through real-time streaming and also submit an abstract for an electronic poster presentation. The ICISAA calls for abstracts and poster presentations on all academic disciplines as well as topics on faith and learning and school activities that are not research-based.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following areas:

• Religion and theology
• Humanities and social sciences
• Science and technology
• Health care
• Culture and art
• Faith and learning
• School activities
• Next Generation

Several excellent abstracts among those submitted for the six academic sessions will be selected for awards. Additionally, abstracts submitted by high school students and Next Generation participants will have the opportunity to present during the Next Generation session and be considered for awards. 

Abstract submissions are due Thursday, June 15, and the poster e-file submission deadine is Friday, July 14, 2023.

The ICISAA is a formally registered international conference—its academic sessions are open to any researchers and the Next Generation Session is open to college students.
