Wholistic Healing Conference at Andrews University
Oct. 12–14, 2023
The Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University will host a conference on wholistic healing, highlighting the challenges and opportunities for the church, from Oct. 12–14, 2023. The conference will explore a comprehensive approach to healing based on biblical understanding, inspired revelation, and contemporary science addressing fundamental health and healing issues faced by church members today.
The event will emphasize the message found in 3 John 2: "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers." Attendees will be encouraged to embrace this message wholeheartedly and incorporate it into their daily lives.
“People often think about wholistic healing in terms of physical and spiritual health, but there is much more to it. It is a comprehensive integration of various interdependent and interacting dimensions like physical, mental, spiritual, social, etc., which means fueling the body, engaging the mind, nurturing the spirit, and sharing these benefits with others,” says Anna Galeniece, DMin, who is a professor of chaplaincy and lead organizer of the conference.
The conference will bring together renowned guest speakers from institutions such as the General Conference, AdventHealth, Loma Linda University and Kettering Health. Speakers, along with presenters from Andrews University and the Seminary, will delve into various themes relating to wholistic healing, including mental, emotional, social and family health, theology, worship and mission.
Each theme will be accompanied by presentations delivered by experts in the field. Attendees will have the opportunity to gain valuable insights, practical tools, and a deeper understanding of the healing ministry within the context of the church.
Additionally, panel discussions will provide participants with the opportunity to engage with the speakers and explore the challenges and opportunities related to each aspect of wholistic healing. The conference will culminate with a significant panel discussion providing a comprehensive overview of the topics covered throughout the event.
Registration for the conference is free; however, it is highly recommended that attendees register in advance. Those outside of the Michiana area who are unable to attend in person will have the option to receive a Zoom link to view the conference remotely.
