AdventHealth Develops Exclusive Internship
For Andrews University School of Architecture & Interior Design Students.
AdventHealth and the Andrews School of Architecture & Interior Design (SAID) have introduced a significant new annual internship that will be available to one SAID student annually who has completed their fourth year in the program. The selected intern each year will gain broad experience across a range of key disciplines in the fields of administration, architecture, urban design and interior design.
The first internship will be awarded during the 2023-24 school year, with the internship taking place May 13–Aug. 2, 2024. This unique experience will provide the selected student with an extraordinarily beneficial rotation over the summer that provides the opportunity to work with:
- AdventHealth's Office of Design and Construction (adventhealth.com)
- Brasfield & Gorrie, one of the largest general contracting firms in America (brasfieldgorrie.com)
- HuntonBrady Architects, renowned architectural firm and recipient of more than 50 American Institute of Design Awards (huntonbrady.com)
Finalists for the internship will be interviewed by the selection committee in January with the final selection being named by the end of January. One of the key requirements for applicants is to have earned a GPA of 3.2 or higher. The interns will be paid $17.00 per hour for 12 weeks, with travel and housing expenses covered, in addition to being awarded a scholarship by the School of Architecture & Interior Design.
“We praise God that a world-class healthcare organization like AdventHealth validated the quality of the SAID program and the outstanding students who study here by designing a vital internship that will be available exclusively to an SAID student each summer. The students awarded this internship will not only gain tremendous experience, but also the opportunity to forge relationships with some of the top professionals in our industry,” says Lionel Johnson, SAID chair.
