Theatre Wing Presents "You Can't Take It with You"
On Saturday, Feb. 24, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 25, at 2 p.m.
The Andrews University Theatre Wing is proud to present George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart’s “You Can’t Take It with You.” The production will take place on Saturday, Feb. 24, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 25, at 2 p.m. in Newbold Auditorium, Buller Hall, on the campus of Andrews University. Tickets are free and can be obtained at the door. Donations will be accepted at the door and are appreciated.
“You Can’t Take It with You” tells the story of the Sycamore family, a fun-loving collection of unique and eccentric characters. When their “normal” daughter becomes engaged to her boss’s son, the Sycamores have to prepare to pretend to be an average family for one dinner so the pairing can be a success. When her fiancé's family unexpectedly arrives a day early, however, everything that can go wrong … well, it definitely does. The play is a heartwarming comedy that will make you laugh but will also leave you with an important message: enjoy life! Not everything is about money or status; after all, you can’t take it with you!
“I think people should come to the show for many reasons, the first of which is that the show is hilarious,” says Bianca Loss, president of the Theatre Wing and an actress in the production. “A good comedy can make you forget your troubles. That is precisely what this show can do. Also, the cast and crew have worked hard, and we’d love to have a good crowd.”
The Theatre Wing is a student-run and funded club on the Andrews University campus. The club is dedicated to revitalizing and fostering the arts on campus.
