25 Years of Service: Betty Gibson
Associate Professor of Information Systems & Computer Science, Department of Computing
It is without question that, over these past 25 years, Betty has served Andrews University with incredible distinction. I speak on behalf of our department and so many others in saying that she is a joy to work with. Every day, she gives 110% of her time to her students, friends and this great university, and yet she still finds time to ask, “What can I do for you?”
Betty is a top-tier, dedicated professor. She teaches great computing knowledge, yes, but goes far beyond the daily “chalk-n-talk.” She cares deeply about her students, especially when they are struggling with life’s challenges. Betty ensures each of her students—and colleagues—are cared for. She mentors them and prays with them.
I don’t want to miss highlighting one of Betty’s many great features: her amazing sense of humor. Betty delivers the deep knowledge required for success in our industry but does it in a way that is fun, inspiring and brings the joy of learning into the classroom.
Congratulations, Betty, on your 25 years of wonderful, dedicated service. You are a true blessing to all. It is an absolute joy and profound privilege to see you recognized for all your incredible contributions.
