Know the warning signs and what to do to prevent suicide

Are you or someone you know at risk of suicide? Here are some suicide warning signs:
- Isolating from friends and family
- Withdrawing from activities
- Extreme mood swings
- Visiting or calling friends to say goodbye
- Talking about feeling hopeless or having no reason to live
- Talking about wanting to die or kill oneself
- Looking for a way to kill oneself, such as searching online for materials or means
- Sleeping too much or too little
- Acting recklessly; acting anxious or agitated; increased use of alcohol or drugs
- Giving away prized possessions
If you or others you know are experiencing these symptoms, seek help immediately by contacting the Andrews University Counseling & Testing Center (CTC) at 269-471-3470. CTC services are free and confidential to Andrews University students and their spouses. ALC telehealth services are available to all Andrews University students and employees.
Help is available. Suicide is preventable. There is hope.
