Biography

Angelika Kaiser, PhD cand, is Instructor of Philology and Linguistics at the SDA Theological
Seminary/Andrews University, where she teaches modern and ancient languages as well as linguistics for
theologians. As a trained language teacher, hailing originally from Germany, she holds an MA in German
Studies, Italian Literature, and Foreign Language Pedagogy from the Technische Universität Dresden
(Germany). In 2012 she graduated with an MA in Religion (Biblical & Cognate Languages; Theological
Studies) from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University.

Current Research or Professional Activities

Angelika is currently finishing her dissertation in the area of Italian Philology on a religious Italian
Renaissance manuscript from 1460, incl. curating its study edition. She has worked as a language teacher,
translator, interpreter, administrative and research assistant, as well as for a theological journal (AUSS).
Fascinated by stories – especially Biblical stories and those of people around her – she enjoys
reading/listening to them and thereby getting to know people (ancient or modern). Happily married to
Denis (a church historian.... even more stories there!) and mother of one little daughter, she relaxes
during one-on-one time with family, friends, late-night reading, learning to play Ukulele right now, and
perfecting the bread-baking she picked up during the current pandemic (still quite some ways to go there,
though).
