Brad Hinman is currently an Assistant Professor at Andrews University in the School of Graduate Psychology & Counseling. He joined Andrews as University as faculty in 2011. He brings with him his expertise as a private practice counselor specializing in marriage and family therapy, sex therapy, out of control sexual behaviors and sexuality issues - including sexual addictions. Dr. Hinman completed his PhD at Western Michigan University in Counselor Education and Supervision and is an alumnus of Andrews University. He holds professional licensure through the State of Michigan as both a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He is also a nationally certified Sex Therapist. Dr. Hinman is a teacher at heart, though, and has taught every educational level from first grade through master’s level. His research interests include family dynamics, communication; the intersection of sexuality and Christianity, including sexual orientation, pornography, sex addiction, and hypoactive sexual desire. Dr. Hinman counts it as one of his greatest personal and professional accomplishments to have been married for over 30 years to “The Key Lady” at Andrews University and to have raised two sons in Adventist education.
