After completing a postdoctoral year at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Dr. Tomenko worked for four years as a clinical audiologist and First Steps provider in South Bend, Indiana. She then joined the faculty at Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana, and taught in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders for ten years. Before joining the faculty at Andrews University in 2020, she worked as a traveling audiologist for 360care, visiting numerous long-term care facilities in Michigan and Indiana.
Rhonda Tomenko was born in Reykjavik, Iceland, and is married to Pavel Tomenko. They have three children, Sam, Aron, and Stella.
Dr. Tomenko’s research interests lie primarily in the areas of speech intelligibility, cochlear implants, tinnitus, and auditory processing disorders.
She teaches the following undergraduate classes:
