Biography

Jerome Skinner, a native of Buffalo, NY, is an Associate Professor of Old Testament Exegesis and Theology at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University (Berrien Springs, MI). His educational background includes a BA in Theology (AUC), a Master of Divinity, and a Ph.D. in Old Testament Biblical Studies with a Cognate in Philosophical Theology at Andrews University. Dr. Skinner currently serves as the Director of the Institute of Jewish-Christian Studies at the Seminary. He is a member of several academic societies (ATS, SBL, ETS), and is on the Biblical Research Institute Committee of the SDA church. He has contributed several articles for books (Psalms Interpretation), completed a theological commentary on the book of Ezekiel (Andrews University Press), and is currently working on two commentaries for the forthcoming SDA International Bible Commentary Series (Isaiah and Ezekiel). He has given presentations on several continents at events such as scholarly conferences, campmeetings, and Bible conferences.

Current Research or Professional Activities

Jewish-Christian studies: especially the history of Jewish identity as well as various eschatological views concerning Israel.

Research: the intersection between research designs and research outcomes.

Theology and Philosophy: the hermeneutical presuppositions relative to theological commitments.
