Ph.D. Religious Education, Andrews University, 1987
Steve loves God and he loves people. He considers these two ingredients to be the basic qualifications for ministry. Steve is an international speaker, trainer and author. For more than 30 years he has served in various capacities, such as a youth pastor, seminary professor, and consultant.
In addition to the special training that his 18-year-old daughter has provided, Steve has been a children's Sabbath School teacher at each level as his daughter moved through the ranks. Steve is the Children's Church pastor each quarter in his local church. He also prepares young people for baptism and authored the current junior baptismal study guides "It's My Choice," geared especially for concrete thinkers.
Steve has led a number of family mission trips for Maranatha Volunteers International, which involves school construction, day camp intercultural activities, and a camp meeting atmosphere and sharing for ages 4-80+.
Currently Steve is president of Involve Youth, a parachurch organization that energizes young people for service. He continues to develop resources in forms like books, magazines, a website, games, DVDs, and CDs. He has accepted the additional responsibility of coordinator for the Youth and Young Adult Ministry concentration in the Andrews University Seminary's Doctor of Ministry program.
