Errata
Errata, n. pl., an error in printing or writing.
My unofficial hobby is proofreading. Having the eyes of a proofreader is a blessing, and a curse. The ability to find and eliminate typographical errors is very useful, but everyday there are many opportunities for mental cringing as we are subjected to the productions of those who forego the use of spellcheck.
To all of you who hate errata, I recommend the book Eats, Shoots & Leaves: the Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation, by Lynne Truss.
Just be glad I'm going into the field of publishing, instead of becoming a teacher and grading essays.
