In-DEPTH (Internal Department of Educational, Pastoral Training in Homiletics) is a new initiative of the Department of Religion & Biblical Languages of Andrews University which seeks to coordinate preaching opportunities for the students of our department. These opportunities may not only be a blessing to the partner churches, but also cooperate towards a more in-depth preparation of these students to Christian service.
In-DEPTH is looking for churches who would be interested in becoming partners in this initiative. A partner church would schedule to receive student preachers from the Department of Religion & Biblical Languages of Andrews University. These students would serve voluntarily. Therefore, as part of the agreement, a partner church would only need to reimburse the costs of transportation and, depending on the distance of the church, provide lunch after the morning service (a fellowship meal with the church or a meal at the house of a family of members of the church would be perfect). If the church is significantly distant from the campus of Andrews University, it may still partner with us. In that case, the church would need to provide a place for the student preacher to sleep while serving (the house of a family of members of the church would appropriately satisfy this need).
If you are interested in this initiative, please, let us know. Our schedule is very flexible. As seen in the in-DEPTH schedule below, we can schedule with several churches on a same given date. Both English speaking churches and non-English speaking churches are welcome to partner with us. It would be an honor to have our students serving at your church.
