Application for Assistance
ELIGIBILITY
Regular part-time, half-time and full-time Andrews University employees are eligible to participate in this assistance program.
SERVICES PROVIDED

Types of assistance will include, but are not limited to, financial, personal or household.

Loss of immediate family member: employees may receive assistance as requested regarding a memorial service/funeral.

Employees in financial need may be provided a check written to a third party.

Financial assistance will only be considered after the employee has exhausted all other resources.
PROCEDURE

Employees needing assistance may submit an application. Alternatively, a concerned department leader, supervisor or coworker may submit an application on their behalf.

Download the application form here, then submit it to the Human Resources Benefits Coordinator in person or via email (caring@andrews.edu).

If a request is received on behalf of an employee, the HR Benefits Coordinator will contact the employee to confirm their consent to request assistance. If confirmed, the request will be taken to the committee. If an employee is unable to give consent to receive Caring Connection assistance due to a medical condition, or if the request is coming as a result of an employee death and therefore eliminating the ability to receive consent for assistance, a decision to grant assistance will be made by majority vote of the committee.

The committee will review each request and make determinations on a case-by-case basis based on both the level of need and the availability of funds.
All requests are confidential and only committee members will be aware of any direct request.
