Biography

My name is Jonathan David, and I am interning at the Counseling and Testing Center! I was born in Maryland, USA and am one of two children. I enjoy working with students on a variety of problems like life transitions, depression, anxiety, self-image/worth, stress/burnout, spirituality, men’s issues, preventive care, and sexual/substance addiction. My primary methods of therapeutic work are Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive-Behavior Therapy(CBT), Dialectal-Behavior Therapy(DBT), Adlerian Therapy, Existential Therapy, Internal Family Systems(IFS), and Person-Centered Therapy(PCT).

I grew up in a climate that endorsed the invalidity of psychology to the point where it was marked as forbidden or illicit. Socially, I was primed to believe that psychology was in opposition to faith, therefore I am seeking to bridge the gap and lessen the stigma associated with this with controversial topic. When not in the office I enjoy working out, walking with my dog (Jax), gaming, eating, and hanging out with family/friends! I look forward to meeting you as you schedule your appointments.
